CALLEIJA JEWELLERS MARINA MIRAGE
4week project.

This project commenced in November 2017 for a regular client involving several levels of ceiling, round, opal shaped LED trough bulkheads, curved flowing bulkheads & trough bulkheads requiring a Level 5 finish to prevent glancing light caused from not only the shopfront glazing but also the glass top display units, polished stainless steel & designer decorations.

The use of polished ornamental plaster to the sharp bullnose partitions & polished white set columns in the retail area was to create a seamless finish, a particular request from the client wanting a flow from the curved partitions & bulkheads to the straight partitions.

The Display area to the rear of the retail area of the tenancy has a flowing curved bulkhead with multi coloured LED light trough was a difficult project in itself, as the fixed air conditioning ducts are barely above the ceiling line, resulting in a painstaking process to be able to suspend & plaster this detail as the movement of the ducts result in cracking of the ceiling junctions if it wasn’t braced properly.

The partitions had to also incorporate a Level/5 finish as the Back of House areas were flooded with light from different directions. 13mm Fire-Chek plasterboard with a ASB acoustic blanket was used to achieve the sound rating required to muzzle the noise of the work shop from the invited guests to their retail area to create a peaceful environment for potential sales.

Square-set revels to all windows, doors & Access Panels were used to continue in the seamless finish for a high-end retail store such as this.

In all, this project ran for 4 weeks with many different structures, materials & techniques were resourced in completing this stunning Jeweller. With a happy client, and a 2017 ACWI award winning plastering fit-out, PGP Plastering is proud of the level of finish & team in producing a project that excelled 20 other entries in this category.

NANTUCKET RESTAURANT
From tender to construction, this project was a challenge. From the ceiling cavity space upwards of 10.8 metres above the ceiling line, to the huge ceilings area of 360m2 & the vast amounts of plasterboard routed bulkhead beams that run from front to back & side to side of this build, we knew PGP would have to be on our best game.

Our client had a tight but manageable time frame but with such a large project, PGP would have to amalgamate with a lot of other trades to make this schedule work so not to hold any other trade back.

This project has 6 different ceiling levels with over 250Lm of plasterboard routed bulkhead beams with timber moulded cornices, a raked feature VJ timber ceiling that marries to into the glazing head, perimeter bulkheads to the restaurant dining areas & high gloss 2PAC ceilings to the kitchen areas of the tenancy.

What sets apart this ceiling line to any other is the elliptical line of the ceiling following the glazing to the east side of the building structure. Hence all of the perimeter bulkheads follow the line of the glazing creating a seamless finish from the exterior facade.

The Restaurant partitions & internal toilet amenities walls are all constructed with a 1200mm datum rail with VJ board kicks & timber mould freezes, so on completion, giving an early era Plantation feel to the finished product.

The Raked ceiling area of the tenancy has a large feature niche to the partition to create what was one of the first vertical gardens of its time of construction, leading to a fresh vibrant feel to the restaurant.

Dropped bulkheads over the open Bar & Kitchen areas to differentiate from the specified dining areas give a warm inviting feel to the landscape.

From Design, Management & Construction, Nantucket is a feature Fit Out for any Construction Company.

As such, Nantucket was an award-winning project for our client that looks as beautiful now as the time of completion. PGP Plastering was proud to nominate the project to the AWCI Awards in 2015!
